Erewhon is pretty straight forward. Infantry units are 5-10 models, cavalry are 3-5 (sometimes 6). Characters are single models (duh) but can have bodyguard, from 2 to 4 usually. So basically, infantry is 10 units, cavalry is 5 or 6. It's not massively different to DR.
Not a clue about 6th ed, not really my thing any more.

I'm not sure it's a 1-to-1 correlation, but the lists in the book are pretty familiar.

I would be interested in taking a part in the "tale".

Oh, I'd be up for that. I've got a High Elf army for 6th Edition that needs painting (and a bit of TLC).

TBH I never done anything like this before or I be setting out the plan now! I find it hard enough to get ppl in my gaming group to pick up a brush!
I have a stab in the dark at it
Time frame 12mths
Goals - 10/12men unit every 2 mouths (Approx 60/72model total) Model allowed - Repair/repaint/new from your lead mountain Characters - Er unsure.... depends on what system you are using I guess
Also if you could state where you are from - Just to see the likelihood of getting a game sorted if nothing else!

I would go along with that format, with a couple of suggestions.
Two months is too long, people might wander off if you allow too long. A month can seem too short, so how about a compromise of around six weeks?
Goals I would say allow participants to decide on the size of their unit. Saga players would want 8 for example, cavalry units, monsters, etc would be smaller. Just make it a "legal unit for your game" and leave it open ended.
Characters are simply a legal unit, no need to make special rules up for them.
Another thing to decide is a start date. I would suggest September, summer months are never very productive for painting. First deadline would thus be mid October, then next after that would be end November, etc - if we went for a six week timeframe.
I am happy to go along with most formats that keep me painting.

You can build for both at the same time, yes. I did a quick list for Erehwon yesterday using the easyarmy builder (there's only 3 lists up on it so far). Beastlord + 4 bodyguard, 10 beastmen, 10 beastmen, 10 ungor, 5 centaurs, 3 minotaurs, 10 hounds = about 1000 points, if I remember right. Feels like that's about what you'd get in FB. Round those up to 12s and 6s, and you've got around 35 points in DR (elite, bellicose, bellicose, light foot, cav, greater warbeast, lesser warbeast, lesser warbeast).

I'm just in the process of wrapping my painting challenge for the OWAC (Old World Army Challenge) LINK, where the premise was to paint 1000points over a 6month period. That's 200 points a month, but you had the option of taking a mulligan - a month where you didn't have to paint anything. The organiser, Iannick, collected everyone's blog post about the month and published it - if you had to take your mulligan you had to notify him before the month started. It was a good format. I liked it - it felt like a challenge. Not easy, and a lot of people couldn't compete it because of that real life yo, but it was very good as you could always see the end in sight. Volomir runs a 'Tale of X Gamers' LINK . I can't quite find the link t o the fantasy version, but I enjoyed reading that too.

What does check in mean?

Oh sorry probably should have clarified it - It would be for folk to check in with the thread/tale with the other/hopefully play a game with other. The Idea would be also as a checkpoint for those still taking part. Potentially knocking out those WAY behind.

I would expect check in at each deadline date, so seems superfluous? If you can't get one unit painted in 6+ weeks then you really need to drop out.
I would also round the dates to be easy to remember. 15th and last day of the month, makes it easier to remember. Stretches it out by a couple of days too, which makes it slightly easier. So 15th October, 30th November, 15th January, 29th February.
