CITIZENS!
As we lurch toward a new decade, emerging bleary-eyed and blithering into the cold dawn of the 2020s, with the prospect of the New And Improved Old World a year or two down the track... what are your plans? What's the next big thing you'll be working on? New army, new game, new painting kit, new battlefield? Spill your beans (or someone's, anyway).
I have two things in mind.
First is a proper battlefield for my house; it's been too long and I've had these Game In 5D boxes lying around for years, it's time to either get rid of them and pick up a couple of sturdy 2x4s or embrace their potential and start putting some scenery inside them.
Second is a new army, after all these years. The last one was rushed out to get on the table fast and prove I can still play: this one is more about proving I can still paint. Multiple small units rather than big steaming wodges of lads; small, elite and shooty rather than a big clumsy combat brick; able to bait and flee rather than solid as the proverbial rock and prone to crumblage. I had a good long think about which it was to be, but there was only one choice really.
See, I hate High Elves. I really hate High Elves. I've been on the wrong end of High Elf armies since 1997. You'd have to go a long way to find someone who hates High Elves as much as I do. All the way to the frozen north, where the men are men and the women are very extremely women (except for the slaves, who are getting sacrificed any day now).
In 2020 and beyond, this house is a Dark Elf house.
What are you lot up to?

- Finish off the last goblins of the current wave, so I've got something resembling a small, fully painted army. - Paint at least a couple of 7TV, Warcry, Wild in the Streets, and Gaslands gangs. - Paint the Easterling army. - Then, it's a choice of beastmen, brets, tileans, native american weird WWII, estalians, and a couple of other armies. Currently, I'm most enthused about the beastmen, but we shall see in 6-9 months time where my head is at.
- Finish painting Venice scenery. - Make and paint more scenery. Including a shark filled trench for jumping over, a longbarrow, a couple of bits for project green mesa, and some giant's causeway style bits. - Sell a bunch of spare toys.
- Actually play some games. Preferably Warcry, Gaslands, Wild in the Streets, Zona Alfa, LotR, and some cocktail of WHFB, Erehwon, Sage: Age of Magic, and Dragon Rampant (where I can use them goblins).

Venice scenery? Did I already coo and gibber over this? If not, allow me to do so here: gibber, coo, phwoar, etcetera. Gonna be looking forward to that.

I must decide should I make the dwarf army I am working on now "complete", or start painting the next army in the que - Dark Elves. After playing few games of herohammer, I feel that I would have more fun playing something that have monsters, magic and all the rest of stuff that the poor stunties don't have.
Having said that the dark elves would be monster heavy, so the number of models I would have to paint wouldn't be too high.

This shot is from earlier in the year. I think there's more bits of street, a couple of gondolas, and some more pier sections, been added since. MDF raised streets, fountain, wells, and resin barrels and debris, are all TTCombat. The square of green-blue is the top of a set of water tiles (6 or 8 of those), also from TTCombat. The buildings and bridges are old Plascraft ones. The dark pieces are (undercoated) pier sections from the GW laketown plastics. There's paint on the mdf bits: red brickwork and bone surfaces. I need to finish that, and reinforce the hell out of the Plascraft buildings (they're foamex, and the joins aren't solid), before painting them and the rest.

Finish my 2 5th edition armies (chaos & Wood elves), then I will move on to my Dungeon saga game, I want to paint at least the entire base game. I will also paint up some scenery, I feel that I lack in that department.

I have one goal on my mind for next year and that is to get my Wood Elves army painted into playable size. That was supposed to happen already last summer but I got distracted with other projects.

Not even 2020 yet and I'm changing my mind...
With the price of plastics what it is, I don't think I can stretch to a Dark Elf army. I'm gonna have to build up what I already have, which means more bulk for the Tomb Kings (literally; I've my eye on a Bone Giant) and either liquidating or putting together my Chaos Dwarfs...

With the price of plastics what it is, I don't think I can stretch to a Dark Elf army. I recently swapped an army for an unbuilt dark elf army. All I actually wanted was more pirate elfs and tentacle monsters, so there will be spares. When I get round to going through that pile, I'll nudge you and let you know what there is.

Thanks mate! I'm not after that much, just 1500-2000 points I can use as allies. My Chaos Dwarfs are being collected in the same vein; got the figures, gonna use 'em for something, but not another big army project like the Sylvanian Family.

All the best to everyone here for 2020!
I think my focus will be, and has been, to finish the projects that I have started and never finished.
So, my dwarf army with longbeard unit, gyrocopter, bolt thrower, thunderer unit and some characters.
Epic ork army and squat army
Epic terrain
WHFB terrain and board
Ork 2nd ed. 40K army
Space Wolf 2nd ed. army
I think that will keep me well busy for the year and beyond depending on my work load.

Currently working on a Crimson Fists army, which hopefully will be wrapped up in the next few months.(For this wave at least) After that I am putting together an all goblin army. I'm about 1/4 primed right now, so I have plenty to paint and plenty more to prime. After that we will see.
