Hello, this is the second half of this project. To some this project may look a bit familiar, as it got started already last year when we had this wonderful summer painting challenge in FB Middlehammer group. Back then I decided to finally start painting my Empire forces and managed to finish ten handgunners, a mortar, a hellblaster and two mages. But after the summer I got distracted with many other projects and during the winter I only managed to get some crossbow men half painted. So, my first target is to get those xbow men done during this month. For september the target is a unit of swordmen. These I also prepared already last year bu they have sat on my shelf untouched for the whole winter. After those, who knows what. Here are some pictures of the stuff already painted.

They’re appearing fine now.
They look amazing! Really strong colour theme. I particularly like the complimentary red in the sleeve and leg slashes.
Great little force. Need an obligatory group shot!

Oh wow, these are great, exactly like the stuff from GW back in the early 90's. Those wizards are giving me a serious dose of nostalgia, just wonderful.

Those are lovely.
I meant to pipe up. Your images, previously, were being held up by the image hosting people's DDoS protection. If I tried to view the image, I got a message, before it'd refresh and show the actual image. So, on here, it'd show as a broken image, only showing the proper image once you'd gone and had a look at the DDoS message...

Oh, those look like from an old GW book! The fire wizard is the greatest, but everything is really top notch!

Thanks guy! I´ll do a group picture when we shall play our first game. We'll see how long that takes to happen. They worked alright on my own computer so didn't really notice that.

They worked alright on my own computer so didn't really notice that. Yeah, I'm no surprised you couldn't see the issue. Once you're through the DDoS bit, they cache and show correctly, so it'd just be seamless for you. Bloody over-paranoid 'solutions'.

The plan for August was to finish the crossbow unit and here they are. For September I'll try to get the Swordsmen done. [/quote]

Swordsmen are coming along nicely but now I need your help, dear Hivemind. I need ideas for their shields. What colours would look good, some sort of heraldry,...?

Something similar to the feathers, red and white? Traditionally it would be a white ship on a red background, or you could also go with the eagle (like the Austrian eagle). For some reason I like the idea of a red rams head on a white field. Googling tattoo designs can be a treasure trove.

Thanks nord, you gave me a vision of a white ram on a red background. I have a few ideas now that I'll try out!
