Greeting all, I'm Alex. I started playing sixth ed. with my children around 2002 and played it almost weekly for many years, fortunate in that I had 3 or 4 friends locally who were always up for a game. I didn't mind 8th but my mates didn't so it came to an end and we moved onto FOW and BA.
Recently joined a club in Shepperton, West London because some were playing 6th and have launched myself back into it with a passion.
I've quite a few armies but a handful need finishing off, am currently building a 'new' undead army, I have once of a few 1000 points but I couldn't resist. Historically an Empire player though.
Used the same name on The Warhammer Forum.
Regards Alex

Jon here.
Been about on Warseer, Dakka, TacCom and more over the years.
Gaming since 95, played 4th Fantasy/2nd 40K right up to today. Also played plenty of other systems from other companies.
These days I run a War-games department for Modiphius, focussing on skirmish systems (that currently feature a lot of Bethesda properties at present) but outside of work I'm a Kill Team/Skirmish kind of guy, with Epic for my Middlehammer itch.

I'm more here to paint Epic than promote the company, but it seemed remiss not to mention it up front rather than later right?

Hello all - I'm Paul, one of the Middlehammer Facebook admins. I run some of the painting themes/challenges and hobby projects on the group, and helped put together the WFB 5th Edition event at BIG in Bristol in 2018. I'm hoping that this forum will help support more of that sort of activity within the community I also have a blog, The Good, the Bad, and the Chaotic Neutral, that has a lot of Middlehammer related content, (e.g. the Facebook group's Legacy Projects) if you want to check it out.

Ben... from Gloucester... it's YOU, isn't it. You whose coming was foretold to us. Or me, anyway.

Hello, I'm Richard. I'm really good at planning/starting projects but terrible at finishing them. I've come here to join in the Tale of X Gamers thing. To see if I can turn that around.

Hi guys, I'm Josh from Japan and an aussie expat. My hobby history dates as far back as HeroQuest from MB and from there I was hooked on the realms of fantasy board games and miniature table top games. I initially sent away for a painting guide from the address in the HQ set and grabbed some Tamiya paint and set out to destroy my HQ figures with thick layers of smelly Tamiya glue like paint lol Later found a small comic shop in QLD that sold Warhammer and got the 3rd edition WHFB rule book for my 17th birthday. Then went back there and slowly collected all the Citadel paint sets and got some decent art brushes and really got hooked on the miniature painting side of the hobby. Found WD magazine and found Epic space marine and with a friend we bought the starter boxed game and split it and played that for about a year or more and loved it and still love the game to this day. Warhammer was such a gorgeous game to look at but prohibitively expensive to get an army together. Until the 4th edition box set turned up at the comic store and I had two armies. This was the starting point with my love of WHFB and what that edition brought to my hobby. Classic miniatures mixed with a great game. Didn't play that much tbh as always busy painting the miniatures to get an army together and never like playing with unpainted miniatures. Then went to England and landed a job at the Oxford store at GW and had a blast of a time during that Golden Age of the hobby. Met so many great people there and eventually got a short stint at the studio to paint miniatures with the team there which was an incredible opportunity and always remembered. This was the time when they were painting the wood elves and releasing the WE army book for 4th edition. And the chaos book for 40K 2nd edition was being produced and minis painted for that. didn't get to paint anything for those releases as I was just a rookie and did mundane jobs and conversions to fill gaps in the studio armies that needed filling. I did get to paint some of the lizardmen for the battle book for 5th ed fantasy battles though. And the after that I left to go back to Australia. Looking back i wish I had stayed on and studied sculpting as that would have been such a useful skill for me now. I stopped playing anything GW after 5th ed fantasy and 2nd edition 40K and got out of the hobby scene for a few years. Then jumped back in the Confrontation miniatures and more recently Infinity. It was only a couple years ago that I got the nostalgic itch to get back into some of the older games from the late 80`s to mid 90`s again as those games were so fun to play. Currently painting a dream long project of mine which is a dwarf army which mostly consists of Marauder miniatures which are my favorite line of dwarfs mixed in with some lovely Perry designs too. Epic space marine squats and orks projects are ongoing and hope to be able to play some games early next year. Orc and goblin army that I have had since 5th ed and have been expanding with only Kev adams miniatures and is still growing. And I have recently started an ork 40K army with all those lovely characterful designs from the 90`s featuring all of Kev adams designs of course Thanks for letting me bore you with all that and I look forward to seeing everyones projects and ideas and passions for middlehammer goodness. Cheers

Hey all!
My name's Carmin and I've been playing tabletop games since about 1995, and GW games since '96. I even had a 3-year stint as a redshirt in the mid 2000s. While I'm still a fan of GW's current offerings, Middlehammer is where I "came up" in gaming so it's always got a special place in my heart. I'm even trying to harangue some of my old coworkers into playing some games of 6th/7th edition Warhammer Fantasy. I'm also a huge fan of Epic 40k (3rd edition... The one with the firepower chart), and I'm currently engaged in a project to collect old hex pot paints and try some "archeopainting" (just a nerdy word for painting in the old style).

Hi, I'm Le Etche, French and addicted by Lizarmen and WHB since…..a very long time, let’s say I was there at the right time. I'm seeking the eternal breath of the warhammer spirit and i will carry it to my last day.
In fact i'm an old hobbyist. When i was a teenager i built a lot of models fromWWII (planes, jeeps, tanks) at scale 1/35).
I met the Role playing game D&D in high school (stories, dices and miniatures) but I failed one year and my mother confiscated all my books, dices and miniatures.
I found all my stuff after my studies (I passed all my exams the first try) and since then I collected and increased my collection.
I have tested all the developments of WHB from V5 until today AOS. I learned to paint with a winner of two Swords.
I collect mainly lizardmen and slanns and all that look like "Lustrian" Amazons, pigmies, vikings….
I love Space hulk and its rules
And I have an early collection of the lord of the rings (thank you Peter for your fantastic vision of Tolkien’s world)
…. but I also have many small armies like Dwarves, Empire, wood Elves, skavens….
I also collect comics and records vynile rock, pop rock with illustrations of the masters of fantasy Roger Dean, Rodney Matthew.
I’m married, a wife, two teens, an old car 2cv and a basset that stinks… And i'm visually impaired. last words, I love sharing my passion for figurine wargames with other enthusiasts

Name is Ben, from Australia. Been in the gaming scene for about 20 years.
I play most of GW's dead games, epic, 40k(2nd and 3rd), warmaster, blood bowl, mordheim.
Played fantasy up until they killed it in end times, not sure why I played 8th edition for as long as I did, really didn't enjoy it. I assume it was because all my friends were playing. I then moved onto kings of war and helped create a podcast for it. Since then, I have put Kings of war aside due to a mechanic that just ruins games - (double 1's). Who knows might play it again when v3 comes out again next month.
Have recently just started playing 6th edition WHFB again and thinking about starting creating my own content for youtube. Started playing fantasy late 5th edition and 6th was the edition that hooked me, just love it to bits and wish I had a few more peeps to play with.
Super pumped to find all these small communities.
