The community project is to make an orc fort initially. The setting is a mesa desert world under imperials control with orks that have crashed on the surface and trying to settle. The imperials will be obviously trying prevent this, however with little more than a local militia. So how does this work? I will suggest currently everyone who willing to join in pledges the following. * min of 5 minatures of either orks or imperials Additional pledges *terrain *desert suitable transport (ie no boats) *wreckage *ork buildings and fortifications *civilians - tv crews, water merchants, scrappers etc etc. Required information via pm (if preferred) * location - so i can consider where we meet up. Time Frame (to be confirmed) 6 months starting in September . Rule set (tbc) 2nd ed/shadow wars All models are wysiwyg to save any confusion. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk

I'm in. One (1) Mark I Land Raider, and let's say a nice adobe building (one of those beige ones they always used to put in WD). I'm in the middle of arseing nowhere, South Wales, but I can get to Nottingham pretty easily.

I'm sure I've seen mdf ork buildings recently... Hmmm...
Ok. I'll throw in some 2nd ed madboyz. Maybe some later model kommandos too.

What sort of thing are you thinking of for the imperials? Mostly just imperial guard types?

That sounds spot on to me! I will have to make some spiker also to keep the era theme going! What troops are you thinking jonathan e ? - Well i like to be a bit vague on my reply to this, anything from locals forming a possie to claim the bountry, tech priest looking to recover some STC (did I see a Land Raider mentioned?) or just some outlaws wanting to take over the fort as it on a key trading route.... I suspect you can come up with something fiendil

It's just that the queue is jammed up with Tomb Kings... Wait though. What period of Orkitekture are we going for here? 2e 40K beige adobe blocks or post-Gorkamorka everything-is-scrap-now?

Can we call this Green Mesa? Slip in some other Half Life references somewhere? Scenario called Unforseen Consequences? Orks have a hellycopta of some sort (even if it's non-functional)? Oooooo... I've got some stormtroopers somewhere that do kinda look like the soldiers... - Well i like to be a bit vague on my reply to this, anything from locals forming a possie to claim the bountry, tech priest looking to recover some STC (did I see a Land Raider mentioned?) or just some outlaws wanting to take over the fort as it on a key trading route.... I suspect you can come up with something fiendil Maybe. But, I'm a bit lacking in inspiration when it comes to 40k. I've still got a love for Sisters, and for the Mechanicus, but at the moment, I'm lacking in enthusiasm (and kits) to kitbash something suitable in a basic human.

Ah, nuts.
Now, I've got a human posse kitbash planned, and an mdf vehicle picked out for them...
As well as an mdf missile silo located, which will just want some naughty, stabby tentacles to live in it...

I nudged him elsewhere: Both work hand in hand The main building can be adobe with scrap metal dumped into fortifications and piles I like that. As you say, they're trying to establish themselves, so a mix makes the most sense. Yeah i see both as fitting

Yeah i can both era of buildings working, i see orks as manic agricultural engineers horders. Lots of outbuildings with an arrange of lean too surrounded with a few permanent builds. Plus pile of vehicles and scrap for grubbins
If they so happened to built all this on top of a bigger ancient/forgotten structure/vessel we will have to see what folks prove.

Casting my vote for 2nd Edition. I pledge my Imperial Guard force (handily already desert themed).
I can also throw in a small Grot mob.
EDIT:
Imperial Guard:
2 platoons infantry (one in Chimeras, one on foot - as Taurox have no rules in 2nd Ed) 3 Leman Russ MBT 2 Griffon 2 Demolisher 2 Hellhound 4 Sentinels with Multi-laser 1 squad Rough Riders 1 squad Stormtroopers in Chimera 1 squad Ogryns 1 squad Ratlings Assorted Priests, Psykers, Techpriest with Servitors, Commissars.
EDIT EDIT: Probably given the OP the foot platoon of Guard with the Rough Riders and a handful of vehicles would be enough, maybe supplemented by my Frateris Militia and a squad or two of my Sisters of Battle from a local shrine?
