After the Dogs of War forum closed down, I've lacked a place to really put these, but hopefully this new forum can help me to get motivated to actually finish some more units for my Dogs of War army! This does some with the caveat that I cannot paint particularly well (as you'll see by the images), and progress may be slow, but I hope you enjoy nonetheless. 13 Cursed Company with the old Citadel Plague Cart as a counts-as 8 model unit filler. I also have an old Citadel Skeleton Cavalry model that will be a counts-as 2 model filler to bump the unit up to 23, which I'll try and fill out to 25 or 30 if/when I am able to pick up some more models. 20 Long Drong's Slayer Pirates - these guys were a real pain to paint and only came out OK, so not planning on trying to expand these much in the future (maybe to 30 members once I've finished almost everything else). 21 Bearmen - sadly some have replacement generic shields. I'm likely going to go back and paint the bear paw markings in red (and freehand them onto the generic shields), but this will likely be a project when/if I expand the unit to 30 or so with aquiring some extra models. 5 Desert Dogs; I learned when doing these that I can't paint white, but other than the white these came out OK. I have another 5 or 6 to join this unit at a later date when they are also painted up. 15 Alcatani Fellowship - the banner is pretty awful and I might replace it later, but otherwise pretty happy with these. Currently working on another 38 models (!) which will expand the unit to a good strong 53. 28 Ricco's Republican Guard - these probably came out the best of everything I've painted so far. I've also done Mydas the Mean, Lucrezzia, and a Hireling Wizard, but will get photos of those at a later date (these photos didn't come out amazingly, so I'll try and get a better set-up when I have more to get photos of).

These look amazing, you are too critical of your own work, but at least it pushes you on! Looking foward to seeing more!
Sad to hear a forum closing down, hopefully we can make this a success!

Bugger me, these are all very credible! Nice use of the ole Plague Cart (it fits in surprisingly well) and I echo Llamafish - you're way too hard on your freehand in particular.

Wow! These are really ready good. I love Long Drong's Slayers, and the white on Al Mukhtar's Desert Dogs looks fine to me. Quality stuff. Do you have a Paymaster?

Thanks guys! I do indeed have a Paymaster; here are pics of the other 3 things I've painted: Mydas the Mean and Sheikh Yadosh. I have a few more paychests that I'm going to convert with different paymasters and bodyguards - the Imperial Citizens scribe and a Mordheim Witch-Hunter model I have marked out as the two crew for my second one. Lucrezzia Belladona. Not a ton to say about her except I used a non-traditional color scheme VS the one from the Dogs of War book; I think it came out OK though. The first of my Hireling Wizards, using the Nicodemus model and clearly inspired by Gandalf.

Some Knights of Myrmidia (Tilean goddess of war) I converted up the other day.

Awesome! I love Dogs of War and you're really doing them justice. The plague cart works well as a unit filler - doesn't feel like cheating in the way some unit fillers do, as it underlines the theme. Loves those converted knights!

Oh, I love those Knights of Myrmidia. Where are the bodies from? Are they Bretonnians?

Thanks! I like how the Plague Cart worked out in the end too. Yeah, the Knights are Bretonnian Knights of the Realm bodies and mounts with the resin Stormcast female head pack heads from Forgeworld - I'm trying to keep the army to GW stuff only, but not limiting it to a certain era! I also made use of a few other subtle bits: a lion icon on the flag, the Green Knight's horse head on the champion, and High Elf legs, lance and cloak for her also. I'm planning on doing a bunch of these "DoW-adjacent" regiments alongside the official range to cover more ground - Nippon ninjas, pygmies, halflings, Cathay rocket guns, Amazons, Arabyans, etc.

Started on my unit of "heroic personality" mercenary knights also; from left to right we have Pedro Savali on his donkey and Don Quixo (inspired by Don Quixote), and Petre Cavendi the Witch Hunter with Maria d'Avenant, the Unburnt Maiden (inspired by Joan of Arc). I'm not sure what else I'll do to fill out this unit but it's intentionally left pretty open so I can add whatever mounted models inspire me/I think are cool.

That witch hunter's got some speed on him to keep up with those horses! Love the idea, love the models.

This is a wonderful looking army I just recently bought the army book for the DoW which has some nice back story to the units and flavour text.

Thanks guys! Not much progress for now, been both away and still chewing through these silly 38 extra Alcatani, but here are some new recruits destined for a trip in the paint stripper soon: Halflings are one of the "sub-armies" for my DoW I have planned, and these will add to units of Halfing archers, Halfing melee troops, a Soup Tank, some Halfling dog riders, a couple of Halfling heroes, and a general on a giant bull I have planned (and of course Lumpin Croop's Halflings).

Halflings! Always good to see them. But. Um. Soup Tank? Explain!
