Last of the standard/core troops, a unit of skeletons (or one and a half units in Saga). I painted these a couple of weeks back, I spent 30 minutes each day on them until they were finished, took me just over a week, 8 or 9 sessions. So on average, a little over 20 minutes each. One of the reasons I picked undead back in the day, they are much easier to paint than most. I might, might, paint up another twelve with spears, if I can find enough bits to make them. Got a feeling I am a few short. It's been a while since I made these and I'm pretty sure I originally made just 16 for Saga and exhausted my supply, but then I found a sprue the other day in a tidy up so I might be able to scrape them together. I am going to concentrate on goblins in autumn/winter, so might be nice to tidy up on the undead before then.

You have managed to make the new GW sketelons look worth buying. How did you manage that? Superb stuff.

Dude. Those new skellies are gorgeous models. Nice proportions, look like they've just crawled out of a longbarrow, way better than any of the previous generations of GW skellies (and I'm going back to the original skeleton horde here). Even the studio paint job looks good.
And nord's painting there is just icing on the cake.

So when are you going to build the Barrow (hopefully Skyrim Style) and some Nords to attack it?

Well something suitable for a 4x4, i suspect a man of your talents would be fine!
Looking at those nords you linked too, makes me regret not siding with the Imperials 😉

Here's the rest of the warband. The Lord of Bleak Fell in the front centre, with his bodyguard. I know plenty of you will recognise the Lord, he's an old wight from the 1990s, a nod back to my first army. The bodyguard are plastic, army of the dead from Lord of the Rings, I always thought they were really nice models and wondered what they would like if they were not just ghostly blue. So I painted some up to find out. And finally, a couple of recent spirit additions, from GW again of course, not sure what they are called but they came in one of the starter sets.

Guardian of Souls on the left, Spirit Torment on the right.
Stunning stuff. :-)

These look fantastic! You style has really captured the look of them being dead and hungry for man flesh The Rackham undead minis are a nice touch and fit in perfectly.
