Thank you for sharing them.

Blimey, I forgot to upload the last round of pictures here. My bad! So here goes: Big Boss - usually goes with the spears. The squigs are meant to come from caves so deep, that they have effectively lost all pigment in their skin. Inspired by deep sea critters. I can imagine that sunlight makes them rather angry! Need to collect more of the riderless ones to do a squig herd. Trolls! Another unit painted last year. I dreaded tackling them, but actually turned out really fun. I couldn't work out a colour scheme for them for over 2 years. Really pushed myself with these, used the airbrush to basecoat, then glazed them with greens and blues and then layered and layered and layered.... . Need to varnish them still. Back rank, the middle one is my favourite. Converted using green stuff and the tree trunk from the giant kit. Loves playing baseball using squigs. Or anything else really... The army as it stands right now.

I really like those Trolls. The studio colours don't do them any favours, but a nice pallid skin and high contrast crest brings out the charm in them.

Thanks for the kind words!
I quite like the studio paint jobs to be honest! But I did not feel they fitted my army too well. The Trolls are very nice models to play around with washes and glazes.
I might pick up the new stone trolls too, although I much preffer the originals.

I really do like what you have done with your army. Any special hints or tricks to make your chariot, or spear chuckka? I also like to know how you managed to convert your mage. I am doing a Common Goblin army and would like to incorporate some of what you are doing.

Thank you! I did uncover some of the old 'making of' pictures for the warmachines. Spear chukkas: So the main structures were made of balsa wood strips, with bits of plasticard/pvc and greenstuff used for the metal parts. The ropes are just linen sewing threads twisted together into cords. There are some plastic bits thrown in for good measure. The leavers at the back of the machines were made from weapons shafts from the chaos marauder set for example. I have only found a single WIP photo of the chariot unfortunately: But a few more showing more details, from when I first painted it: A bit out of focus but all I have unfortunately! The chariot was made with the same philosophy as the bolt throwers. A mix of balsa wood and plastic parts. I tried sculpting woodgrain on plasticard first to make the entire structure out of it, but it just was too tedious. As you can see the sides and front of the chariot are made of shields. The thill is a curved balsa strip, while the yoke a piece of plasticard with little spikes glued to it. I looted the wheels from my abandoned black coach (goblin styel). Spiders were converted to look different to the normal ones, in an attempt not to mix things up for the oponent (does not work, I constantly try to move the chariot 7 inches and roll for poisoned attacks when it fights). As far as general advice goes - try finding some reference material to base your scratch builds on. I googled images of mangonels and other actual ancient and medieval warmachines when building the spear chukkas. The idea is not to copy their design exactly, but to have a rough guide of what goes where. Helped me a lot! Other than that - just have fun with it. Try dry fitting bits here and there, so what looks right to you. In the end these are goblin machines, they are meant to look shoddy! I will try looking for a picture of the shaman without paint for you too.
